ACUPUNCTURE

With over a 2,000-year-old history, acupuncture is one of the oldest healing modalities in the world.  Regular treatment can help your body repair itself naturally and prevent many illnesses and injuries brought on by stress and the busy pace of life in today's world. Our entire system is constantly working together to maintain homeostasis.  Stress, diet, and environmental factors can lead to disease or an imbalance of this system.   Acupuncture helps to restore this balance by stimulating the body's natural healing capabilities by manipulating the Qi (pronounced ‘chee’). Qi is the vital life-energy that powers all of the physiological processes in the body. Acupuncture does this by the use of fine needles along defined meridians in the body.  The needles act like directions, telling your body what to do when it's not functioning properly.  Furthermore, the custom treatment of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine is focused on attacking the root of the problem, not only relieving your symptoms, but also preventing the disease from returning.

While acupuncture is most often associated with pain management, its scope of practice is much larger.  Acupuncture has been found to be particularly effective in resolving various physical conditions related to tension, stress and emotional disorders.  Although acupuncture is not a “cure-all” treatment, it is very effective in addressing a wide variety of medical conditions.   Clinical research from the National Institute of Health demonstrates that acupuncture: boosts immunity, improves circulation, stimulates the production of pain modulating endorphins and enkephalins, regulates blood pressure, and increases red & white blood cell count.
